HISTORY
Wattcutters is a Public Company that originated from a Sole Proprietor formed in 1997 by AP Bezuidenhout who saw a demand in the market and started with a small team with chainsaws and has grown stronger ever since.
OVERVIEW
Wattcutters supplies timber to the paper and chipboard industries. We harvest only alien invasive species namely Black Wattle (Acacia Mearnsii) and Gum (Various Eucalyptus species)
We strive to assist previously disadvantaged contractors who does not have the means or knowledge to supply directly to the larger mills to be able to run and manage their businesses with the assistance of Wattcutters. We assist with start-up capital, skills development, equipment and supply contracts. 70% of all our suppliers are from previously disadvantaged communities.
At this moment we deliver approximately 8000 tons of timber per month for the pulp market with over 96 000 tons per Annum. We have several Harvesters each with approximately 30 workers doing our harvesting, that is a total workforce of 868 workers

Invader species are being kept under control while everyone benefits from this. The farmer gets paid for the trees and disadvantaged contractors which helps remove the invasive species also benefits for their communities.
The bio fuel that is supplied to factories is a safer fuel that is O-Zone friendly.
The timber supplied to the paper mills and chip board industry removes unwanted alien invasive plants from farming land relieving the pressure on the environment by adding plantations for this purpose.
Timber supplied to farmers used as boiler fuel to heat irrigation water.
